Important Alert Messages

This document contains important information to be observed for preventing damage to users

and bystanders or their property and using the purchased product safely. The alert messages

and symbols used in this document are shown below with their meanings. Please understand

them thoroughly before proceeding to the text.

Alert message

This message indicates a potentially hazardous situation that could result in personal injury

(*1) or physical damage (*2) if the user does not perform the procedure correctly.

Indication

*1 Personal injury indicates a wound, burn, or electric shock, which does not require hospitalization

or repeated hospital visits for curing.

*2 Physical damage indicates extended damage to housings, household goods, domestic animals, or

pets.

Program and data protection

¤ In preparation for damage to or loss of programs and data, back up important programs and data

regularly.

¤ To store data, observe the following:

· Do not turn off the power during system operation.
· When initializing a storage media such as a floppy disk or magnetic tape, be sure to check in

advance that no important program or data is stored on it.

· While a storage device such as the floppy disk drive or magnetic tape unit is accessing a storage

medium, do not remove the medium.
