2 JK HD Transmission Cross Member - Kit 87034
Prepare to Remove Factory Cross Member
1. Remove Factory Skid Plate Bolts and Nuts
a. Using a 18mm socket, support & carefully
remove three factory 12mm bolts from trans-
mission skid plate.
b. Continue by carefully removing two factory
12mm bolts from the gas tank skid plate.
c. Support & carfully remove four factory 12mm
bolts from transfer case skid plate.
d. Using a 16mm socket, remove three factory
transmission mounting nuts from center of trans-
mission cross member.

e. Use a hydralic jack or screw jack to support the
transmission and transfer case prior to removing
transmission cross member.
f. Place the jack under the base of the transfer
case with a block of wood and slowly lift the
assembly from the cross member. (Note: Be
sure to lift the transmission mount off of the
cross member by about a 1/4” to remove any
load from the cross member.)
g. Using a 18mm socket & wrench, remove two
12mm bolts and nuts from each side of cross
member.
