Series Seal Replacement

DESCRIPTION: Seal Replacement Instructions for
Connector Using -XTB- Seal Kits and Repair Pick.

XTB Replacement Seals for FasTest Connectors are designed to be
installed with FasTest repair tools. Each XTB Seal Replacement Kit contains
five seal changes.

Old Seal Removal:

1. Insert the flat end of the STR-012 Repair Pick between the Main Seal and Actuator.

2. Dislodge the main seal and pull it over the actuator tip. Remove the second seal in the

same manner.

To Install Replacement Seal:

1. Liberally coat the new replacement seal with lubrication. White petroleum is used during

initial assembly of standard connectors.

2. Inspect the connector and clean as needed. By attaching an air hose to the fitting end of

the connector and blowing air through it, unwanted metal particles and debris can be
removed.

3. Roll the two replacement seals over the actuator into the seal groove.

4. When the new seals are in place, they will clearly fit into the groove area. If a portion of the

seal is inverted, or can be seen as not being in the groove, use the knobbed end of the pick
to assist in pushing the seal into the groove. Be sure the seals are completely seated in the
groove.

WARNING: If instructions are not clear or components are missing, contact factory before
using or replacing seals.

CONNECTOR MAINTENANCE:
