8.1.2 Conditions for Leak Detection
To use the Leak Detector, the test object must be filled and pressurized with tracer gas
(95% N
₂
- 5% H
₂
) to achieve a gas flow through the leak.
Notice Appropriate gas filling equipment can be obtained from your local supplier.
Exercise care in the handling of tracer gas after use. Released tracer gas
contaminates the surrounding air with hydrogen and can affect
subsequent measurements for some time. Ensure that the tracer gas is
ventilated away from the target area, preferably to the outside of the
building.
