2. PUMP NETWORKS AND MODELS

Adagio is able to communicate with a pump connected to a computer by
means of a serial / USB communications protocol.

2.1. Compatible Network Topologies

The following pump network topologies can be controlled by Adagio:

Direct Connection: Each pump is connected to a single serial / USB

port.

Daisy-chain: A single pump is connected directly to the computer and

the rest of the pumps are sequentially “chained” to the previous one. In
order to uniquely identify the pumps available within the chain, each of
them must be assigned an address number (from 0 to 99).

The limitation of how many pumps can be connected in a daisy chain,
depends on the pump model.

• Legato 200 pump chains = 50 pumps

• Legato 100 pump chains = 20 pumps

This restriction will be applied in the pump configuration tool by not
allowing you to configure daisy chains that do not comply with the
above restrictions.

When communicating with a Legato pump via USB the pump’s drivers
must be installed on your PC. These drivers can be found on the
CD that was shipped with the Legato pump.

2.2. Compatible Pump Models

The following pump models are compatible with Adagio:

• Legato

200

series

• Legato

100

series

OEM modules may be also controlled by the application. Contact the
factory for more information.

Max / Min flow rates in Adagio may not match up exactly
to the pump’s protocol.
