Connection

Shielded twisted pairs of wire is recommended to connect the RS-485 network. The shield
of the cable must be connected to the "GND" terminal. If the bit rate is higher than 9600
bit/s it is recommended to connect termination resistors (120 ohm) on both ends of the
network. The CM-485 Module doesn't contain any protection against surge voltage or
lighting, so the necessary protection must be provided by external field supplied devices.

Installation

Switch off the main electrical supply before installation. It is not sufficient to switch off the
I/O switch on the front panel of the controller, the external double pole main switch must be
switched off to avoid electric shock or possible damage to the module.

Open the case cover door and loosen the four big plastic screws at the corners to

release the outer enclosure case.

Two plastic spacer rods with a hole in the end extend from the back of the case above

the connection board. Fix the Module with the enclosed screws to the spacer rods (see
picture below). If you have a `wide case’ controller (TC+2, TC+4), use the enclosed
plastic rail: fix the rail to the spacers then attach the Module to the rail.

Plug the flat cable connector of the Module to the CN1 socket at the top left side of the

main board (see picture).

Insert the communication cable through the rubber inlets at the bottom of the case and

connect to the terminals of the module. Ensure correct polarity connection.

Slide the “Setup” switch to “On” position (in the outer part of the case, to the left of the

battery)
