9-6 Using the Variable Data Feature
Note: The PLC program scan time must be added to the hold time. If the
scan time is 10 milliseconds, then the minimum data hold time in the PLC
program should be 120 milliseconds to make sure data is held at the DL5
for the minimum 110 milliseconds.
To summarize the timing requirements:
•
Data and strobes are set all at once.
•
Once data and strobe lines are set, they must remain unchanged for a
minimum of 110 milliseconds.
•
The total cycle time for a variable data transfer and message trigger is a
minimum of 220 milliseconds. A cycle time of 220 milliseconds allows
you to update a variable approximately 4 times per second.
