The Monitor is responsible for communicating with the OPC controllers through one or more OPC
servers. When the Monitor is not running, the Valve Manager cannot discover new or missing valves,

However, the Valve Manager can still display information about a projects and valves, including
information in the “Last Test” and “History Table” views.

The Monitor can me stopped by selecting “Monitor | Stop Valve Monitor” from the main menu.
Similarly, it can be started by selecting “Monitor | Start Valve Monitor”. Stopping the Monitor will close
any open connections to OPC servers. Starting the Monitor will open all OPC connections. Opening a
connection to an OPC server may cause the OPC server itself to start.
