You can specify how often the Monitor polls each OPC controller for valve status information. Specify
the length of time in milliseconds between each poll in the “Update data every” field. The minimum
update time is 100 milliseconds, and the maximum is 5000 milliseconds.

The value specified in the “Monitor Window” field determines how much information is preserved in the
Monitor Status window before it is discarded.

Once the desired values have been entered, click the “OK” button to save the values. The values for
update rate and Monitor Window line history are applied immediately. The “Start Automatically” option
is applied the next time the Valve Manager is started.

4.15. Project Tree

The Valve Manager displays projects their associated valves in the “Project Tree” view. A project can
be expanded or collapsed by clicking on the “+” or “-” box next to the project name. Underneath each
project is the list of valves associated with that project.

Figure 44 Project Tree

Valves in the “Project Tree” view are display alongside an icon that indicates if the valve passed or
failed its last test, and weather or not the valve is available for testing. A green icon indicates that the
valve passed its last test (or that no tests have been carried out). A red icon indicates that the valve
failed its last test. A black circle with a cross is used to indicate that the valve is not currently available
for testing; otherwise a valve test can be initiated.

Icon Description

The valve passed its last test and is available for testing.

The valve passed its last test but is not available for testing.

The valve failed its last test and is available for testing.

The valve failed its last test but is not available for testing.

The “Project Tree” view is dock-able window. That is, the location of the view can be moved or even
hidden. Select “View | Project Tree” from the main menu to toggle the display state of the view.

When an item is selected in the Project Tree view, the main window automatically switches to an
appropriate tab: the “Project” tab for projects and “Last Test” tab for valves.
