2. Insert the other end of the cable into the RS-232 port on top of the
Enpac Ex and make sure it is a solid fit. Consult the hardware diagram if
needed. Tighten the thumbscrews to ensure a reliable connection.

3. When the data collector is properly connected to the computer, the
cable connection icon in the Load/Unload dialog box changes from
“not connected” to “connected.”
Loading Lists to the Data
Collector
After you connect the data collector to the computer, you can load one or
more lists to the data collector. This section discusses initializing the data
collector, loading inspection codes, selecting the list, and other load options.
WARNING
Do not connect the Enpac Ex to a PC via the RS-232
interface unless the area is known to be nonhazardous.
IMPORTANT
When loading large lists to the Enpac Ex, recommended
practice is to connect the power supply to the Enpac Ex.
This disables the automatic timeout feature (Instrument
Setup) which could cause potential loss of data during the
loading process.
