Initial Marker Setup

Overhead Sharp Object Hazard:
Do not adjust sequence or needle valve when the markers are
in motion. Never allow anyone near the drill when folding or
unfolding the markers. You may be injured if hit by a folding or
unfolding marker. Markers may fall quickly and unexpectedly
if the valves are mis-adjusted or hydraulics fail.

Marker Speed Adjustment
For 20- and 25-foot markers, Great Plains recommends
adjusting the initial total unfold/fold cycle time to no less
than 15 seconds.

Machine Damage Risk:
Adjust marker folding to a safe speed, with tractor idling at a
normal operating rpm. Excessive [un]folding speed can dam-
age markers and void the warranty.

Sequenced Dual Marker Speed Adjustment

Refer to Figure 86

Adjust folding speed for dual markers with hex adjust-
ment screws on the sequence valve body. The valve
sequence body is located on top of the left wing frame.

Loosen jam nuts before making adjustments.

There is one adjustment screw for unfolding speed
and one for folding speed

. You can identify adjustment

screws by markings stamped in valve body.

Turn adjustment screws clockwise (

: slower) to

decrease [un]folding speed and counterclockwise
(

: faster) to increase [un]folding speed.

After adjusting the folding speed, tighten jam nuts on hex adjustment screws to hold settings.

Independent Marker Speed Adjustment
The folding speed of single and independent markers (on
separate hydraulic circuits) is controlled by needle valves
at the cylinders. This applies only to markers plumbed
separately (left and right are each on their own tractor
hydraulic circuit).

Refer to Figure 87

A needle valve controls the folding speed. The needle
valve is near the rod end of the marker cylinder. With
tractor idling at a normal operating speed, adjust marker
folding to a safe speed.

Turn adjustment knob

clockwise to reduce folding

speed or counterclockwise to increase folding speed.
