To retrieve a public hold call on shared line:
1. Tap the shared line key on any phone when there is a public hold call on the shared
line.
The shared line key illuminates orange when the shared line call is placed on public
hold.
To place the call on private hold, you should configure a private hold key in advance.
To configure a private hold key via phone user interface:
1. Tap .
2. Tap the desired DSS key for one second.
3. Tap the pull-down list of Type and then select Key Event.
4. Tap the pull-down list of Key Type and then select Private Hold.
5. Enter the key label in the Label field or leave it blank.
6. Press the Save soft key to accept the change or the Back soft key to cancel.
7. Tap to return to the idle screen.
You can also configure a private hold key via web user interface at the path DSS
Key->Memory Key (or Line Key).
To place a call on private hold:
1. Tap the private hold key when there is an active call on the shared line.
Note
To barge in a shared line call:
1. Tap the shared line key on any other phone when there is an active call on the
shared line.
The private hold call can be only retrieved by the hold party. If other people attempts to
pick up the call by tapping the shared line key, the retrieve will fail and the LCD screen
will prompt “Forbidden”.
