Welcome to the User's Guide for Intel® Ethernet Adapters and devices. This guide covers hardware and software
installation, setup procedures, and troubleshooting tips for the Intel® Gigabit Server Adapters and Intel® 10 Gigabit
Server Adapters. In addition to supporting 32-bit operating systems, this software release also supports Intel® 64 Archi-
tecture (Intel® 64).

Installing the Network Adapter
If you are installing a network adapter, follow this procedure from step 1.
If you are upgrading the driver software, start with step 6.
1. Review system requirements.
2. Follow the procedure in
Insert the PCI Express Adapter in the Server .
3. Carefully connect the network copper cable(s) or fiber cable(s) .
4. After the network adapter is in the server, install the network drivers .
5. For Windows*, install the Intel® PROSet software .
6. Testing the Adapter .
