3.

Remove the failed fan:

a.

 

Pull up the fan-release tab. See

Figure 6

-3

.

b.

 

Lift up the fan lever.

c.

 

Pull out the fan from the fan module.

Installing a Fan

 

1.

Orient the replacement fan as shown in

Figure 6

-3

.


 

2.

Install the fan:

a.

 

Slide the fan into the fan module.

b.

 

Lower its fan lever.

c.

 

Press the bottom of the lever until it snaps securely into place.

 

3.

Slide the fan module into the chassis until it is fully seated. See

Figure 6

-2

.


 

4.

Rotate the fan-module handle upward until its release tab snaps securely into place.

 

DRAC/MC Module

Among other controlling features, the DRAC/MC controls power to the system. When a functional DRAC/MC module is not installed, newly-installed server
modules cannot be powered on and presently-installed servers modules cannot have their power cycled.

 

Removing a DRAC/MC Module

 

1.

Disconnect any cables attached to the DRAC/MC module.

 

2.

Press in the bottom of the release tab and pull out the release lever. See

Figure 6
