Important

If you choose to install DPM or prerequisite software products from a shared folder, DPM

Setup adds the Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path of the shared folder to the

Internet Explorer local intranet security zone for the duration of the installation.

Note

You cannot install DPM 2007 on the same computer on which your Exchange Server is

running.

DPM supports 32-bit and x64-bit operating systems. You can install the DPM 32-bit version only

on a 32-bit operating system and the DPM 64-bit version only on an x64-bit operating system.

DPM Setup will stop the Removable Storage service, before installing DPM 2007.

To install DPM

1. Log on to the DPM server using a domain user account that is a member of the local

administrators group.

2. Insert the DPM product DVD in the DVD-ROM drive. If the DPM Setup Wizard does not

start automatically, double-click Setup.exe in the root folder of the DVD.
