Screen Orientation

For optimal viewing experience, the screen orientation changes
automatically to portrait or landscape format depending on how you
hold the device.

To modify the default rotating behavior, open the rotation settings by

touching the Home button

→ Apps button

Settings

→ Screen→ Auto-rotate screen.

To enable Auto-rotate screen, touch the setting option to select

the check box

. Once enabled, the screen orientation

changes automatically when you rotate the device.

To disable Auto-rotate screen, touch the setting option to clear

the check box

. Once disabled, the screen orientation locks in

landscape format, and the orientation does not change when you
rotate the device.

NOTE:

Applications downloaded from the Android Market may not

support automatic screen rotation to portrait or landscape format.

Applications, Widgets, and Shortcuts

Application — Software which allows you to perform a specific task.
Your device is preloaded with a variety of applications, and additional
applications can be downloaded from the Android Market.

Widget — A small application which resides on the Home screen and
provides quick and easy access to information. For example, the
Facebook widget allows you to read posts on your wall and update
your status.

Shortcut — A link that you can create on your Home screen to provide
quicker access to an application, service, and so on.
