Troubleshooting
If vou experience anv ol tiu' ioiUnving difficulties while using
the recorder, use this troubieshot'ting guide to help you
remedy the problem. Should am' pn,>blem persist, consult your
nearest Son\' dealer.
The recorder does not operate or operates poorly.
^•The MD niay be damaged ("Disc lirror" appears).
Take the Mb) out and insert it again. If "Disc Error"
remains, replace the MD.
The recorder does not play back.
^Moisture has formed inside the recorder. Take the MD
out and leave the recorder iri a \varm place for several
hours until the moisture evaporates.
^The recorder is not on. Press PCWER to turn the
recorder c,m.
^“The M13 is inserted in the wrong direction. Slide the
MD into the disc compartment with the label side up
and the arrow pointing t(n^■ards the opening until the
recorder grips it.
^•The .Mf^ mav n<^t be rea>rded (the music calendar does
not appear). Replace the disc with oiie that has been
recorded.
The recorder does not record.
"^1 he Mi.^ IS rect)rd-protected ("Prc'tocteil" .ippears),
C.'lose the record-protect '>k>t (see page 7).
^^Fhe recorder is not conm'cted properh' to the sound
source. Make connections properlv t<^ the sound
source,

input through LINE IN). Turn REC LEVEL to adjust
the recording le\’el properly (see page 8),

recordable .ML).

with another recordable MD with h'wer recorded
tracks, or erase unnecessan’ tracks.

An incompletely inserted MD cannot be pulled out.
