ratings

TV-Y7. TV-PG. TV-14 and TV-MA ratings have
additional content ratings called “extenders” to
define additional viewing limits. The extenders are
defined as follows:

0 (sexually suggestive Dialog):

Programs containing suggestive dialog, or sexual
innuendo

FV (Fantasy Violence):

Programs containing cartoon violence occurring in
TV-Y7 programs only

L (coarse Language):

Programs containing coarse language

S (Sexual situations):

Programs containing sexual content

V (Violence):

Programs containing violence

There may be some profanity. \ iolenee or brief

nudity in these programs.

offensive language, nudity or sexual content.
Careful attention is paid to themes, which could
threaten children's sense of security and well­
being.

C8-I- (Programming generally considered
acceptable for children 8 years and over to
watch on their own):

Violence will not be portrayed as the preferred,
acceptable, or only way to resolve conflict; or
encourage children to imitate dangerous acts
which they may see on television. There will be
no profanity, nudity or sexual content.

G (General Audience):

Will contain very little violence, either physical or
verbal or emotional. There may by some
inoffensive slang, no profanity and no nudity.
