4. Turn on the pressure supply and slowly increase the pedestal pressure to the required pressure. Do
not exceed the maximum working pressure, indicated by the leading edge of the red sector on the
gauge (2).
5. Disconnect the charging line, but do not refit the Schrader valve cap (1) at this stage.
Pressurizing the pedestal using the Vinten portable pump
To pressurize the pedestal using the Vinten portable pump (Fig 3), proceed as follows:
1. Set the column lock (27) to the ON position (see Using the column lock on page 20) and fully de-
press the moving column (4) until the column lock engages.
2. Rotate the steering ring (29) so that the pressure gauge (2) is visible through the window (remove a
trim weight (30) if necessary).
3. Remove the Schrader valve cap (1).
4. On the pump, fold down both the feet (P.3).
5. Push in the handle release button (P.5) and move the handle (P.1) to the horizontal position, where it
will lock.
Note: Do not exceed 7.2 bar (105 psi) if the pan and tilt head has yet to be fitted. For further
information refer to ‘Fitting the load’ on page 18.
