Servicing

General

The Fusion FP-145/FPH-145 pedestal is robustly made to high engineering standards and little attention is re-
quired to maintain serviceability save regular cleaning. Attention to the following points will ensure a long and
useful service life with minimum need for repair.

Cleaning

During normal studio use, the only cleaning required should be a regular wipe over with a lint-free cloth. Dirt
accumulated during storage or periods of disuse may be removed with a semi-stiff brush. Particular attention
should be paid to the bearing strips (5) on the top stage of the column, the wheels (15) and datum reference
sensors (12.2) (See Fig 5).

Accessing the wheels and datum reference sensors

To gain access to the wheels (15) and FP-145 pedestal datum reference sensors (12.2) it is necessary to re-
move the two access panels (12) on opposite sides of the pedestal base, below the lifting handles (10).

CAUTION! 1. Do NOT use oil or grease on any exposed part of the column. This is unnecessary

and traps dirt which acts as an abrasive.

2. DO NOT use solvent- or oil-based cleaners, abrasives or wire brushes to remove
accumulations of dirt as these damage the protective surfaces. To clean mechanical
surfaces, use only detergent-based cleaners.

3. External electrical connection ports should only be cleaned with a semi-stiff brush or
a clean, dry air supply.
