To engage the automatic height mode:

1. Rotate the cable release button (28) anticlockwise and fully depress the moving column (4) under

hand restraint to engage the robotic height drive.

2. Depress and rotate the height mode knob (26) clockwise to select automatic operation. The column

will remain depressed under the control of the robotic height drive.

To select manual column operation:

1. Fully depress the moving column under hand restraint and depress and rotate the height mode knob

(26) anticlockwise to select manual operation.

2. Depress and rotate the cable release button (28) clockwise to disengage the robotic height drive.

To engage automatic steering mode (FP-145 pedestal only), rotate the steering mode knob (11) fully anticlock-
wise to the ‘AUTO’ position, and set the crab/steer changeover knob to crab (‘x4’).

To select manual pedestal movement/steering, rotate the steering mode knob (11) clockwise to the ‘MAN’ po-
sition and rotate the steering ring (29) to re-engage the pedestal wheels.

Movement indicators

The movement indicators (9) will flash to warn when the FP-145 pedestal moves across the floor. The indica-
tors (9) also flash when the camera unit is initialized by the control system, to confirm the correct unit has been
selected. Refer to the VRC System Operators Guide—Publication Part No. V4009-4980 for more information.

Emergency stops

If an emergency stop button is depressed (8), power to the Fusion FP-145/FPH-145 pedestal is immediately
disconnected. This loss of power will also affect any secondary devices plugged into the auxiliary power sock-
ets (18) (such as the Fusion pan and tilt head).

WARNING! 1. Only trained operators should use the pedestal.

2. Display prominent warning signs in studios alerting personnel that
robotic equipment is present and may move without warning.

3. Only operate the pedestal remotely if you are able to see it, to avoid
obstacles and collision hazards.

4. Only operate the pedestal on stable studio floor surfaces. Do NOT oper-
ate the pedestal near floor edges over which the pedestal may fall.

CAUTION! Ensure that the pedestal load is balanced (see “Balancing the load” on page 19) before

driving the column remotely, to prevent damage to the drive system.

Note:

It is only possible to depress and rotate the cable release button when the column (4) is
fully depressed.

Note:

When automatic steering mode is selected (FP-145 pedestal only) the steering ring (29)
rotates freely and does not function.
