NOTE

If the other party does not have the Ultra Fine setting, and you send a document with
‘Text/Photo’ set as the document type setting and ‘Ultra Fine’ is set for the resolution
setting, the image the other party receives reproduces at the other party’s maximum
resolution setting.

[Resolution]: Adjusts the resolution for documents with fine text and thin lines.

The higher the resolution, the higher the output quality, but the
slower the scanning speed.

When copying, the resolution is fixed to [Ultra Fine].

Ultra Fine:

Eight times the Standard resolution.

Super Fine:

Four times the Standard resolution.

Fine:

Twice the Standard resolution.

Standard:

For normal printed or typewritten text.

[Contrast]:

Adjusts the lightness/darkness of the document pages scanned
for sending/copying.

Darker:

For documents with light text or colors.

Standard:

For normal printed or typewritten text.

Lighter:

For documents with dark text or colors.

[Document
Type]:

Select for documents containing text only or both text and
photographs on the same page.

Text:

For documents that contain text without
photographs.

Text/Photo:

For documents that contain text and
photographs on the same page. Automatically,
the machine adjusts the quality of the image and
text on the same page.
