Preparation:

Do the preparatory steps (* page 37).

Tune to the required station.

Press [•REC/STOP] to start recording.

To stop recording

To reduce noise whiie recording an AM broadcast

(Beat proof function)

Press [REV MODE/FM MODE/BP] while recording.
Each time you press the button:

BP 1<—>BP 2
Select the position where there is less noise.

Enjoying karaoke

(For China, the Middle East, South Africa and Asia)

You can enjoy karaoke only while playing discs.
(You cannot use karaoke mode if you have selected a source other

than DVD/CD.)

DVD

There are different kinds of karaoke DVD.

•There are DVD where the different parts for karaoke are recorded

separately, as shown in the example page 40 for operation).

Channel 1; Stereo accompaniment (left)
Channel 2: Stereo accompaniment (right)
Channel 3: Guide melody
Channel 4: Vocal 1
Channel 5: Vocal 2

•There are discs that have audio for karaoke and audio with vocals

recorded separately.

Press [AUDIO] to switch between the two when playing this type of

disc page 19).

•There are also discs where you can enjoy karaoke by pressing

[ONE TOUCH] {• page 41).

Video CDs and CDs

Follow the steps described on page 41.

Preparation:

• Press [POWER

•Turn on the television and switch the video-input mode on the televi­

sion to suit the connection.

• Lower the microphone volume with [SHIFT] -i- [- MIC -I-], then con­

nect the microphone to the microphone jacks. Use a dynamic mi­

crophone.

Plug type: 3.5 mm (Ve") stereo

Audio is automatically switched to stereo (2ch).

You cannot do karaoke with surround effects or 3D Al EQ.

• If a strange noise (squealing or howling) is emitted during use,

move the microphone away from the speakers, or turn down the
microphone volume.

• When you are not using the microphone, disconnect it from the mi­

crophone jacks, and turn down the microphone volume level to 0.
