External unit connections

•Turn the unit off before making connections.

Laser disc playerA^ideo cassette recorder, etc.

You can playback the sound from a laser disc player/video cas­
sette recorder through this unit’s speakers.

This unit has Dolby Pro Logic circuitry. The sound will be repro­

duced with the same powerful stereophonic effects found in
movie theaters.

[i] Record player

Sound cannot be produced unless a phono equalizer (not in­

cluded) is connected.

A record player with a built-in phono equalizer is recommended.

TV with an S-VIDEO terminal

The S-VIDEO output terminal achieves a more vivid picture than

VIDEO OUT terminal by separating the color and luminance sig­
nals before transmitting them to the television. (Actual results
depend on the television.)

Q Subwoofer

The included front speakers have supen/voofers, but by con­

necting a subwoofer, you can enhance the bass effect found on
DVDs encoded with Dolby Digital (• page 34 for operation).

Use outdoor antennas if radio reception is poor.

FM outdoor antenna

• Disconnect the FM indoor antenna.

•The antenna should be installed by a competent technician.

AM outdoor antenna

Run a piece of vinyl wire horizontally across a window or other con­

venient location.

Leave the loop antenna connected.

Disconnect the antenna when the unit is not in use.
Do not use the antenna during an electrical storm.
