Mail Box

The mail box feature is useful when you use this unit jointly with some persons and you wish
your caller would send a fax-message directly to you. Your caller can send a fax-message in a
mail box by specifying the mail box number whenever the unit is in the

ANS/FAX, TEL/FAX

or

FAX

mode, and only one who knows the passcode can retrieve it from the mail box.

This unit has such five personal mail boxes (mail box number 1 through 5) and you can program

a passcode for each one of them.

In order to leave a fax-message in a mail box, each owner of the mail boxes must inform callers

the mail box number in advance.

Moreover, you can retrieve a fax-message in your mail box from a remote facsimile unit.
See page 122.

Programming the mail box passcode

Each owner of the mail boxes must enter a passcode for their mail box to prevent retrieving

from unauthorized persons when using this feature.

The mail box passcode is preprogrammed to “555” for every mail box. If you wish to change it,

you can choose any 3-digit number from “111” to “999” except number including “0”.

You should also use a number that is different from the remote code (see page 139) and the

privacy ring ID number (see page 148).
