Special Instructions for Installing on Non-English Operating Systems

If you are installing on a non-English operating system, before you deploy Kofax Document

Exchange Server you must verify that the java-home path in the domain’s configuration is correct.

You must do this on each machine in the cluster (not just the managed servers, but the

administration and proxy server machines as well), following the instructions below.

X To verify the java-home setting

1

Using a plain text editor, open the config.xml file in the domain’s \config folder.

2

Find or search for the text java-home, which will take you to the first instance of java-

home in the server-start element:

<server-start>

<name>avalinManaged_1</name>

<java-home>c:/bea/jrockit_150_12</java-home>

3

If the <java-home> value is not correct, change it.

4

Repeat from step 2 until each instance is verified correct. The number of instances equals

the number of managed servers installed.

5

Save and close the file.

6

Repeat on each machine in the cluster. When done, go to the administration server and

deploy Document Exchange Server.

Recovering from Install Script Failure

If the installation scripts fail for any reason, you will need to debug the problem and may need to

restart the installation. The most common reason for failure is a misconfiguration of the

install.properties file.

To delete an incomplete installation, do the following:

1

Stop the cluster. From any machine in the cluster:

If you are using a proxy server, at the folder \AppServer\install where Kofax Document

Exchange Server was installed, type “ant stop-avalin-cluster-with-proxy”.
