Chapter 6

Configuring Completion and

Verification

Overview

This tutorial shows how the Template Editor tool can be used to generate a template
file (.kfi) for Completion and Verification.

ƒ

A template file contains parameters that specify.

ƒ

The layout of the Completion interface for each document.

ƒ

The position and type of the data entry fields.

ƒ

How document images are to be displayed.

ƒ

Simple validation rules and references to more complex validation scripts.

Template Editor features a user interface that allows configuration changes to be
made quickly and tested offline.

If a definition file (.idf) has already been generated for the document set then the data
fields can be imported into Completion using Template Editor’s import functionality.
This can save a considerable amount of time when generating template files and is
therefore strongly advised. Data fields can be imported all at once, in groups or
individually.

The first part of this tutorial will focus on importing a template file for the data fields
defined in the chapter

Configuring Recognition and Correction

.

Creation of the same template from scratch will not be covered in detail but the
process of generating a template file from scratch is summarized.
