Getting Started Guide (Fixed-Form)

A label field is automatically added for each data field; the name is the same as the
data field with a “:” added to the end. If multiple fields are added as a text or list
group then the name of the field is the same as the first data field with “ group:”
added to the end.

Add As Text Group is used when data from multiple fields defined for Recognition
needs to be presented as a single value in Completion, as is often (and usually only)
the case for mutually exclusive mark sense fields. The data from all fields is
presented in a single text field. Grouping is set up automatically - by default the
value set in the field if a particular field is checked is the name of that field , that is,
Value = Source field name. Values can be edited using the Group Fields window.

Add As List Group is used in similar situations as Add As Text Group. In this case,
data from all fields is presented in a single list field. Grouping is set up automatically

Two image areas are defined for each field, based on the field coordinates specified
in Definer. The “Focus Area” is the blue box; this box is shown in Completion to
highlight the data area on the image for the current field. The “View Area” is the red
box; this is the minimum area of the image to show while on the current field.

To improve field layout

Now all the fields have been imported they need to be moved to a logical layout. The
fields on this template can be grouped into three sections:

Customer Details – title, surname, first name, address and customer ID.

ƒ

Payment Details – payment method and credit card number.

ƒ

Order Details – order details table, date and barcode.

The first two sets of data are relatively small so can all fit on Tab 1, with a frame
grouping each set. The Order Details data includes the table and will need to be on
its own tab (Tab 2). It is possible to add and remove tabs by right clicking on the tab
names.

To update tabs

Select then right-click on Tab 1.

From the menu select Edit Tab Name.

Enter the new name “Customer Details”.
