Configuring Completion

Getting Started Guide (Free-Form)

87

Completion also highlights the actual data field using a blue box. This is known as
the Focus Area. Completion can be configured to set the coordinates of the Focus
Area to the coordinates that were found by Recognition for the field. Alternatively,
they can be set explicitly. The coordinates of fields are retained when they are created
from the output of a search. Use these coordinates if the data was found. If it was not,
it is important to show the likely location on the image. For some fields the location
may always move around, therefore the whole image should be shown.

For Focus Areas the following is recommended for free-form:

ƒ

Always use the coordinates found by Recognition.

ƒ

Always set a suitable default area, since Completion will use this if
Recognition fails to locate the field.

Setting the View and Focus Areas

For each field in turn, set the value of the Focus Area property to “1 – Auto” (use
Recognition coordinates) and View Area property to “1 – Auto” (automatically
determine area from Recognition coordinates).

To set the view and focus areas

1

Select Image | Zoom In and Zoom Out to display the full image.

2

Select the “Date” field.

3

Select the red box by clicking on the image inside the red box but outside the
blue box.

4

Resize/move the red box to set the View Area to cover the top two thirds of
the document.

5

Set the default Focus Area to be the same area as for the View Area by
clicking on the image inside the blue box and resizing/moving it.

6

Right click on the “Date” field and select Copy Image Position from the
menu that displays.

7

Right click on the “AccountNo” field and select Paste Image Position from
the menu that displays.

This sets both fields to have exactly the same View and Focus Areas so the
image won’t flicker when moving from one field to another.

8

Right click on the Transfer Date field and select Paste Image Position from
the menu that displays.
