CAUTIONS DURING USE

Dew Condensation

This VCR includes a safety function to prevent operation when dew condensation occurs and thus protects against damage to
tapes, the video heads and other parts.

If condensation occurs

The DEW display blinks on the VCR display
and a buzzer sounds continually (when

BUZZER switch is ON).

* To turn the buzzer off, turn the BUZZER

switch to OFF.

Remove the cassette tape.

-f-

With the POWER switch ON, wait until the Dew

display stops blinking.

This may take several hours depending on

surrounding conditions.

What is condensation?

If you pour cold beer in a glass, water droplets gather on

the surface of the glass. This phenomenon is known as
condensation.

When condensation occurs.

If you continue to use the video device in this state, the

tape will cling to the internal parts of the VCR, causing

damage to the tape and video heads.

Times when condensation occurs.

• When the video device has been suddenly transferred

from a cold place to a warm place.

• When using the device in a room where the heating has

just been turned on or exposed directly to the cold air

from an air conditioner.

When the device is suddenly transported from an air-

conditioned room or vehicle to a place with high tempera­

ture and humidity in summer.

• When used in a room with high humidity where steam is

rising, for example.
