Dolby Pro Logic Surround Sound mode;

Choose this feature when playing Dolby Pro Logic
Surround encoded movies and music (especially Laser
Discs, video cassettes, and TV broadcasts with Dolby
Surround sound). Most currently-released Video
cassettes and Laser Discs and many TV broadcasts
include this feature. Not only does Dolby Pro Logic
surround you with sound, it also gives you a clear
perception of the position and direction of the sound.

You also have three Center channel options when using
the Dolby Pro Logic feature, “NORMAL,” “WTOE,” and
“PHANTOM.” These options have programmed
Surround (or delay) values for the Center channel. The
delay (or echo) effect is different in each mode:

- The NORMAL mode gives a true

Dolby Pro Logic sound.

- The WIDE mode can be used to add greater

acoustical separation of the Center Speaker.

- The PHANTOM mode diminishes the effect of

hearing a true Center channel. The Front Left
and Right Speakers give the effect of center
channel information. The Center Speaker is
actually not used.
