Your Home Theatre Receiver’s remote can be set to work your TV (and VCR, Cable Controller, CD Player, etc.) by what is
called the Search method.

If the Direct Entry method, described on the previous page, did not set your remote to operate your equipment, then follow
the easy steps listed below.

NOTE; These instructions cover setting up your
remote to operate a TV. To set up the remote for
additional equipment, such as a VCR or CD Player,

follow these instructions. But, be sure to press the

desired MODE SELECT button (VCR, AUX, etc.).

Press and release both the ‘TV” MODE
SELECT button and the SET button at
the same time. The LED on the remote
will light up.

Press and release the SET button again.
The LED will begin flashing.

Press and release the STANDBY*ON
button until the TV comes on.

To find the correct code, you may have
to press the POWER button many
times. Each time you press the

STANDBY'ON button, another code is
being tried.

NOTE; If you accidentally pass the correct code,

press the SET button. Again, press and release

the STANDBY»ON button until the TV comes
on.

When the TV comes on, press the ‘TV”
MODE SELECT BUTTON.

Now, make sure the remote works your
TV correctly. Press the STANDBY*ON
button and all other related function
buttons. For details, see page 16.

If after repeated attempts, the steps listed
above do not work as listed, the remote will
not operate your TV.

NOTES; Use the above method for setting your
remote to operate your Cable Controller.

When using the Search method to set your VCR or

Audio Cassette Deck, first put a tape in and leave the

power on. Instead of pressing the STANDBY»ON

button, press the remote’s PLAY button. When trying
to set your CD Player or Laser Disc Player, first put a
disc in and leave the power on. Instead of pressing
the STANDBY*ON button, press the remote’s PLAY
button.
