Dolby Pro Logic 3CHfanneli
Surround Sound mode:

Choose this feature when you wish to play Dolby Pro
Logic Surround encoded movies and music but do not
wish to use the Surround Speakers. This mode gives the
effect of Surround Sound without actually using the rear
Surround Speakers.

To Select Dolby Pro Lo^c 3 CHfanneD
Surround Sound;

Turn the Receiver on and select the SOURCE.

Make sure that the SURROUND MODE is not on.
“SURROUND OFF’ should appear in the display.

Press the PRO LOGIC button. “3 CH” will appear

I in the display.

Press either the PROLOGIC CENTER MODE (+)
or (-) button to select either “NORMAL” or
“WIDE.” Your selection will appear in the display.

NOTE: The “PHANTOM” Center channel mode is not available

when in the Dolby Pro Logic 3CH mode.

If your source is a Hi-Fi VCR or Laser Disc
Player, play a Dolby Pro Logic encoded videotape
or Dolby Pro Logic encoded Laser Disc. Make
sure your Television's volume is completely turned
down. Now, adjust the Receiver’s VOLUME knob
to a normal listening level. (Or, press the
VOLUME (A) or (V) buttons on the Remote.)

If your source is a CD Player, play a Compact
Disc. Adjust the Receiver's VOLUME knob to a
normal listening level. (Or, press the VOLUME
(A) or (V) buttons on the Remote.)

Adjust the Center volume by pressing the
CENTER LEVEL (+) or (-) button until the center

sound can be heard when playing a Dolby Prologic
encoded source. (Or, press the Remote’s SELECT

button until “CENTER LEVEL” appears in the
display. Then, press the (+) or (-) buttons to adjust
the Center volume.)

NOTE: The sound from the Center Speaker should be sufficiently
heard, but it should not be as loud as the soundfrom the front
speakers.
