Skipping Stitches
Incorrect size needie.
Bent or blunt needle.
Incorrect setting of needle.
Tight upper thread tension.
Choose correct size needle lor thread and fabric.
Insert new needle.
Reset needle.
Loosen upper thread tension.
Breaking Upper Thread
Starting to stitch too fast.
Improper threading.
Tight upper thread tension.
Incorrect size needle.
Sharp eye In needle.
Nicks or burrs at hole ol needle plate.
Start to stitch at a medium speed.
Rethread machine.
Loosen upper thread tension.
Choose correct size needle tor thread and fabric.
Insert new needle.
Replace needle plate, or polish off burrs completely.
Breaking Bobbin Thread
Improper bobbin case threading.
Lint in bobbin holder or hook race.
Check bobbin case threading.
Clean bobbin case and shuttle.
Fabric not Moving
Darning plate in place.
Stitch Length set at 0.
Thread knotted under fabric.
Push-pull clutch is disengaged.
Remove darning plate.
Adjust Stitch Length Control.
Place both threads back under presser foot before beginning
to stitch.
Push in the clutch.
Machine Jamming Knocking Noise
Thread caught in hook race.
Lint in bobbin case or shuttle.
Disassemble and clean hook race.
Clean bobbin holder and hook race.
