Section 8 - Warranty

Guardian Liquid-cooled 8 kW Generators

OBLIGATIONS ÄND RIGHTS OF THE MANUFACTURER ÄND OWNER

The new model year, class of diesel engine, and emission application determination for your engine are identified on the

emission control information label affixed to the right-hand side of your engine's timing gear case. The rvarran ty period
begins on the date the new equipment is sold to the first retail purchaser.

Any emission control system parts scheduled for regular inspection that are proven defeciive during nonnal use will be

repaii-ed or replaced during the warrano,' period. Any warranted pan: that is scheduled for replacement and tliat fails prior
to replacement will be repaired or replaced under warranty, and the repaired or replaced part will be covered under xvar-

ranty for the remainder of the period prior to the first scheduled replacement. The wananb/ repairs and service will be
performed by any Generac Authorized Warranty Service Facilirt, with no charge for parts or labor (including diagnosis).

As the engine omier. you are responsible to perform all the required maintenance listed in your Owner's

M a n u a l.

GEN-

ERiàC will not deny an emission warranty claim solely because you have no record of maintenance; however, a claim
may be denied if your fadlure to perform maintenance resulted in the failure of a warranted part. R.eceipts covering reg
ular maintenance should be retained in the event of questions, and these receipts should be passed on to each subse
quent owner of the engine.

It is recomtmended that replacement parts used for maintenance or repairs be CTENERibC authorized and approved parts
to maintain the qualibv originally designed into your emission certified engine. However, any replacement part may be
used in the performance of any warranty maintenance or repairs and must be provided vrtthout charge to the owner.
Such use will not reduce the warranty obligations of GENERIC. Add-on or modified parts may not be used for mainte
nance or warranty repairs. Such use will be grounds for disallowing a warranty claim, and GENERIC will not be liable
to warrant failures of warranted parts caused by the use of an add-on or modified part.
