7-2 Increasing Print Speed

Battery Voltage is the level the battery is charged at. You can

check the voltage in the Diagnostics program.

Rule of Thumb

Switch to fully -charged batteries as often as possible. Print

speed decreases as the battery charge decreases.

Type of Printing refers to the contents of the label being printed:

serial or parallel bar codes, graphics, or text.

To change the type of printing, you would change the format’s

data stream. Then, you would change the application and re-

flash it into the printer.

Rule of Thumb

Using text and parallel bar codes increases print speed. The

printer’s speed for serial bar codes and graphics is a constant 2

IPS.

Print Contrast is a measure of how dark the printing is. You

adjust the contrast in the Diagnostics program.

Rule of Thumb

The darker the printing (higher contrast value), the slower the

print speed.
