Redundancy is enabled when two CMR-8500 units are configured as redundant units and able to
communicate via Ethernet connection (Management (FE) Interface). To use redundancy, connect a DB-15
to DB-15 cable (CA-0000316) between the primary and secondary CMR-8500 redundancy ports.
The configurable parameters for the Redundancy Tab are:
• GE-1 Interface:
• Other Unit’s IP Address: The IP address of the GE-1 interface on the other CMR-8500 used in
this redundant pairing.
• Other Unit’s MAC address: The MAC address of the GE-1 interface on the other CMR-8500
used in this redundant pairing.
• GE-2 Interface:
• Other Unit’s IP Address: The IP address of the GE-2 interface on the other CMR-8500 used in
this redundant pairing.
