NOTE:

If your primary

hard drive is connected to
a drive controller card
and not one of the system
board IDE connectors,
leave the drive controller
card installed in the
computer.

Close the computer cover, reconnect the computer and devices to

their electrical outlets, and turn them on.
Does the computer have power?
Yes. Proceed to step 6.
No.

Turn off the computer and devices, disconnect them from their

electrical outlets, wait 10 to 20 seconds, and then open the computer

cover.

Reinstall all expansion cards.

Close the computer cover, reconnect the computer and devices to

their electrical outlets, and turn them on.

Run the System Board Devices test group in the Dell Diagnostics.
Did any of the diagnostics tests fail?
Yes.

Fill out the

Diagnostic Checklist

as you perform the following steps:

1

Turn off the computer and devices, disconnect them from their

electrical outlets, wait 10 to 20 seconds, and then open the computer

cover.

Check all the expansion-card connections in the computer, and reseat

any loose expansion cards.

Make sure that all cables are properly connected and that all

components are properly seated in their connectors and sockets.

4

Close the computer cover, reconnect the computer and devices to

their electrical outlets, and turn them on.

5

Run the System Board Devices test group in the Dell Diagnostics.
Did any of the diagnostics tests fail?
Yes.
