7) Depending upon whether the SAM is of the new flash memory type or not, there
are different options open from this point.
• If the SAM is the flash memory type there will be a 30 second delay
before this initial ‘boot-up’ when the SAM icon and ID will appear in the
start-up window as in 9) below
• If the Sam is an older model then proceed as in 8) below
8) The user can now establish a link between PC and SAM. Until the baud rate had
been set the SAM will not have received a full data packet and the main window
in SCREAM will still look blank as below. Recycle the power supply.
9) SCREAM will detect the SAM and display it as shown below
