WARNING

It is the user’s responsibility to know what materials are being cut. Do not cut metal or other
materials coated with or containing toxic substances, such as zinc (galvanized), lead, cadmium,
beryllium or asbestos unless the area is well ventilated and the operator wears an air-supplied
respirator. The coatings and any metals containing these elements can produce toxic fumes when
cut.

Lenses for cutting with CO

2

lasers contain Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) which can be very poisonous as dust

or vapor. If a lens breaks, proper cleanup and disposal must be immediately initiated.

DANGER

Visible or invisible radiation (class IV) can be present when the laser head door is open. Avoid eye
and skin exposure to direct and scattered radiation. Always follow safety precautions specified by
the manufacturer of the laser system.

Never put fingers or hands in the path of the beam. Visible and invisible radiation are emitted from
the nozzle aperture.

Never put fingers or hands between the material that is being cut and the laser head enclosure.
Moving parts can cause severe crush injuries.
