Connect the USB medium to the USB port

on the front panel.

Press

the

POWER switch to turn the unit

on.

The display cycles from “Power On” →

TOC Reading” → “No Disc” (when no disc
is loaded).

the

DISC MEDIA/USB button on the

front panel.

While the unit searches for USB media, the

display will read as follows.

When the unit finishes getting the USB

medium file information, the display
changes to the following.

File No.

File Name

Note

When no USB medium is connected, the display
cycles from “USB Reading”
“USB”.

8”will light and playback is paused

at the point that the button is pressed.
To resume playback, press the

8 button again or

press the

2 button.

Tip

• When playing USB media fi les, the unit can play

up to 65,535 fi les, 700 folders, and a maximum of
8 levels.

• The iPodʼs equalizer cannot be operated from

the Marantz player. We recommend that you turn
“off” the iPodʼs equalizer before connecting the
iPod to the main unit.

• When connecting an iPod touch, make sure to

unlock the iPod touch.

• Random Play cannot be done for Podcasts.
• Do not use iTunes' individual track options

(equalizer presets, etc.) as the settings may not be
refl ected or malfunction may result.

• If, after connecting the iPod, it performs differently

than it has in the past, please reset the iPod and
try using it again.

• Some operations may differ depending on the

iPod model.

While not playing, select the folder using

the + or buttons on the remote controller.

ENTER button on the remote

controller. The fi rst fi le name in the folder
will be displayed.

SPECIFYING A FILE NUMBER TO PLAY
(DIRECT SEARCH)

Specify a fi le number with numerical buttons (0-9)
on the remote controller.
(Example)
3rd

fi le: Press “3”.

12th fi le: Press “1” and then press “2” (within

approximately 1.5 seconds).

IF A WRONG NUMBER IS PRESSED

If a fi le number that is not in the folder is specifi ed,
the display will return to its previous state.
Press the correct number.
