SMA recommends the i-7520 interface converter for the connection between an
RS485 bus and a PC. An alternative possibility is to use an i-7561 (RS485/USB).
The cabling is identical to that used in the i-7520, apart from the fact that the
connection to the PC occurs via USB.

Jumper A mounted:

120 Ohm termination resistor between
terminal 2 (Data+) and terminal 7 (Data-)
680 Ohm resistors between
terminal 2 (Data+) to +5V and
terminal 7 (Data-) to GND
for balancing the signal
Caution:
Only install jumper A when the Windy Boy is located at one or
the other end of the RS485 bus. Only install jumpers B and C on
ONE device in the middle of the RS485 bus, and only when the
bus cannot be otherwise balanced. Balancing is not necessary
when using the i-7520 interface converter because this unit
performs bus balancing internally.
