Cymbal 2
The Cymbal 2 module employs a noise oscillator to produce the sound of a crash cymbal.
The Cymbal 2 Percussion Synthesis module contains the following controls:
Timbre Density:
The setting of the Timbre Density control determines the richness of
the cymbal's sound. Rotating this control in a clockwise direction
increases the number of oscillators involved in sound production from
three to fifteen. As a result, higher settings produce a richer sound.
Timbre Tone:
The Timbre Tone control is used to control the cymbal's overall
timbre. This can range from dark to light depending upon the setting.
Timbre Decay:
The Timbre Decay control is used to determine how the cymbal's
timbre changes as its signal decays. As the dial is turned clockwise,
the cymbal's timbre changes more slowly as the signal decays.
Env(elope) Release (Time): The Env(elope) Release (Time) control is used to set the
cymbal's amplitude envelope release time. As the control is turned in
a clockwise direction, the release time increases.
Env(elope) Shape:
The Env(elope) Shape control is used to set the shape of the decay
portion of the instrument's amplitude envelope. When the control is
turned in an anti-clockwise direction the envelope shape becomes
linear. As the control is turned in a clockwise direction, the envelope
shape becomes exponential.
