Snapshot Tutorial

• Auto Focus is the only focus mode available while Make-up (page 48) or Face

Detection (page 110) is enabled. To select another focus mode, first turn off Make-
up and Face Detection.

1.

In the REC mode, press [SET].

2.

Use [8] and [2] to select the

(Focus) Control Panel option.

3.

Use [4] and [6] to select the setting you want and then press [SET].

*1

The focus range is the distance from the lens surface.

*2

The focus range depends on the current optical zoom position.

*3

During High Speed Movie recording, focus is fixed at the position where it was
when recording started. To focus an image, half-press the shutter button for Auto
Focus or focus manually before you press [0] (Movie) to start recording.

To focus with manual focus

1.

On the monitor screen, compose the image so
the subject you want to focus on is within the
yellow boundary.

2.

Watching the image on the monitor screen use
[
4] (nearer) and [6] (further) to adjust focus.

• At this time the image that is within the boundary

will enlarge and fill the monitor screen, which aids
in focusing. If you do not perform any operation for
two seconds while the enlarged image is displayed,
the screen in step 1 will re-appear.
