SECTION 4: OPERATIONS

Basic Controls

The basic controls for the table saw are shown in

Figure 36. Setting up for a typical operation con-
sists of the following four steps:

1. Make sure the blade tilt is correct. If it needs

to be adjusted, loosen the blade tilt lock,
turn the blade tilt handwheel, and tighten the
lock.

2. Set the blade height approximately

than the workpiece thickness by turning the
blade height handwheel, then lock the blade
height in place by tightening the blade height
lock.

3. Adjust the fence to the desired width of cut,

then lock it in place by firmly pushing the
fence lock down until it stops.

Damage to your eyes, lungs, and ears could

result from using this machine without

proper protective gear. Always wear safety

glasses, a respirator, and hearing protection

when operating this machine.

clothing and long hair

away from machinery.

4. The digital readout displays the current blade

angle when the handwheel is moved and
power is connected to the table saw. See

Page 51 for setting the digital readout.
