Select the output signal type suitable to
the device connected to the [DIGITAL
OUT] terminal. Refer to “List of
relationships of DIGITAL AUDIO
OUTPUT preference items and output
signals” on page 40.
PCM ONLY :
Device corresponding only to linear PCM
DOLBY DIGITAL/PCM :
Dolby Digital decoder or device having
the same function

NOTE

• When the [HDMI MONITOR OUT]

terminal is connected and “HDMI
AUDIO OUT” is set to “ON”, this setting
is deactivated.

DOWN MIX

Select the signal suitable to the device
connected to the [DIGITAL OUT]
terminal. Set “DOWN MIX” only when
“DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT” is set to
“PCM ONLY”.
DOLBY SURROUND :
Dolby Pro Logic decoder-built-in device

Ordinary audio device

D (Dynamic).
RANGE
COMPRESSION

To correct the difference between high
volume and low volume when playing
back with low volume (only for a DVD
recorded with Dolby Digital).

The D. RANGE COMPRESSION function
turns on only for multi-channel software.
ON :
The D. RANGE COMPRESSION function
is always on.

HDMI
AUDIO OUT

You can select whether or not the audio
signal from the [HDMI MONITOR OUT]
terminal is output.
ON :
The audio signal from the [HDMI
MONITOR OUT] terminal is output.

The audio signal from the [HDMI
MONITOR OUT] terminal is not output.

NOTE

• Depending on the connected TV, when

“HDMI AUDIO OUT” is set to “ON”,
only PCM signals can be output via an
HDMI cable.

Select this item if you do not want to have
the main unit automatically turned on/off
by turning on/off the TV or external
connected HDMI CEC compatible
devices. All other available HDMI CEC
functions operate the same as when “ON
1” is selected.
OFF:
For deactivating the HDMI CEC functions

DivX
REGISTRATION

The main unit has its own registration
code. You can confirm the registration
code, when necessary. Once you have
played back a disc/file on which the
registration code is recorded, the
registration code of the main unit is
overwritten for copyright protection.
