Troubleshooting
This section describes how to solve common problems you may encounter
when using your CLIE handheld.
Note
Thousands of third-party add-on applications have been written for the
Palm OS platform. Sony does not support third-party applications. If you
are having a problem with a third-party application, please contact the
developer or publisher of that software.
Operating problems
I do not see anything on my CLIE handheld screen.
Try the following solutions:
• Tap the contrast adjustment icon and adjust the contrast.
• Recharge the unit. If your CLIE handheld still does not operate, try a soft
reset. See “Resetting your CLIE handheld” on page 251.
I get a warning message telling me my CLIE handheld memory
is full.
• Purge records from Date Book and To Do List. This deletes To Do List
items and past Date Book events from the memory of your CLIE
handheld.
• Delete unused memos and records. If necessary, you can save these
records. See explanations for each application.
• If you have installed additional applications on your CLIE handheld,
remove them to recover memory. See “Deleting an add-on application”
on page 182.
My CLIE handheld switches off all the time.
• Your CLIE handheld is designed to turn off after a period of inactivity.
This period can be set at one, two, or three minutes. See “Setting the auto
shutoff” on page 238.
