Glossary
Please refer to the following terms when you use your CLIE handheld.
Conduit
The software application used on your computer to synchronize your
CLIE handheld with the specified software on the computer, such as the
mailing software, when you perform HotSync operation with your
computer.
Cradle
The accessory for charging the CLIE handheld or connecting to a
computer.
Graffiti
The method for entering letters or symbols quickly and correctly. You can
write with the stylus in the Graffiti writing area. The Graffiti stroke orders
are assigned to each letter, number, and symbol.
Hard reset
Perform a hard reset to initialize your CLIE handheld if necessary. All
applications and data which were installed after purchase, will be deleted.
HotSync
HotSync technology lets you synchronize data with your computer when
you connect your CLIE handheld to your computer. Your data can be
backed up on your computer constantly so that you can restore the data
after you perform a hard reset.
Jog Dial
The Jog Dial navigator allows you to run or operate applications with one
hand. The operations you can perform with the Jog Dial depend on the
application.
