Basic VCR Operations

Recording TV
programmes

Press VHS TUNER.

• If the TV doesn’t turn on, turn it on manually.

Press VHS TUNER again if connected with a EURO-AV (Scart)
cable.

• If connected with a EURO-AV (Scart) cable, the TV is

automatically set to VCR reception.

• If connected with only the antenna cable, set the TV to the

VCR’s programme position manually.

Insert a tape with its safety tab in place.

Press PROG/PRESET +/– to select the programme position
you want to record.

Lift the top cover of the remote commander and press
TAPE SPEED to select the tape speed, SP or LP.

LP provides twice as much recording time as SP, however, SP
produces better picture and audio quality.

Press

REC to start recording.

Tips

• To select a programme

position, you can use the
programme number buttons
on the remote commander.
For two-digit numbers,
press the

÷

(tens digit)

button followed by the
programme number
buttons.

• You can select a video

source (e.g. a satellite tuner)
connected to the EURO
LINE IN connector by
pressing VHS LINE, or
PROG/PRESET +/–
repeatedly, until “LINE” is
displayed on the TV screen.

STOP.

To check the remaining tape length

Press DISPLAY. The display function turns on. The white bar indicates
the approximate length of tape remaining.

To watch another TV programme while recording

1 Press TV CONTROL ON on the remote commander.

“VTR” in the display window disappears.

2 Select another programme position on the TV.
