Customizing the
sound fields

Each sound field is composed of an equalizer (bass, midrange, and
treble) and surround sound parameters: sound variables that create the
sound image. You can customize the sound fields by adjusting the
speaker levels, effects, and surround sound parameters to suit your
listening situation.
Once you customize the sound fields, they are stored in memory.

Adjusting the speaker level for THEATRE, MONO
MOVIE, HALL, STADIUM, or GAME

Start playing a programme source,
then repeat steps 1 through 4 in
“Using the pre-programmed sound
fields” on page 34 and select one
of the above sound fields in step 3.

highlight LEVEL.

preferable level.

If you select MONO MOVIE, HALL,
STADIUM, or GAME in step 1, skip this
step.

If you select THEATRE in step 1, and
you set the centre mode to PHANTOM
(see “Selecting the centre mode” on
page 18), skip this step.

speakers to a preferable level.

If you select THEATRE in step 1 and
3CH LOGIC is selected as the centre

The rear speakers’ volume balance is
always even.

Tips

• To adjust the relative

volume balance between the
front left and right speakers,
use BALANCE L/R on the
unit.

• To restore the factory

settings of the sound fields,
turn on the unit while
pressing SURROUND.
